Parikrama

By Abhay K
My eternal city
every mid-night I see you
with clear eyes,
cherish your contours,
your changing skyline
your shimmering lights,
your shades of darkness,
I sense your changing mood,
your lingering lust
for blood and wealth,
and your deadliest addiction—
power.
Note: In Hinduism and Buddhism, the action or ritual of moving clockwise round an object of devotion as an indication of reverence.
