In this Cafe Dissensus conversation, Kanwaljit Singh speaks to Akbar Qadri. Kanwaljit Singh is a prominent Indian film and television actor.

Born in Bundelkhand, Akbar Qadri graduated from Jamia Milia Islamia. He is credited with starting Jamia IPTA chapter and Intaraal Theatre. He directed the music album of the famous band Euphoria and made the documentary, ‘Learning in Exile’ on Tibetan immigrants. He worked with Imtiaz Ali, the Bollywood director in his movie, ‘Rockstar’. Akbar regularly writes for Neelesh Misra’s radio show, Yaadon Ka Idiot Box. He made his first film, ‘Shahzada Ali’ which won Best Actor Award in Delhi International Film Festival. He is working as an actor in Tigmanshu Dhulia’s forthcoming film, ‘Yaara’.

The first part (the first 18 minutes) and again towards the end it seems to be about Ghalib- that too without any particularly insightful comments. It is good to hear the actor’s reminiscences about Faiz but there is little by way of any insights about Faiz’s poetry either.
